Allow to select and copy/paste statements

Problem: Currently you can't quickly copy statements from an item and paste them to another item. Instead you have to do it manually one-by-one for every item, or use the semi automatic tools. There are items with many statements that all could be added to many different items.

Who would benefit: Not all users want to use external tools, so this would help users from other projects to edit Wikidata.

Proposed solution: Create an environment where users can select statements (by checkboxing them?) and then copy them. Then they can open another item and paste selected statements there.

More comments: I don't know is a visual environment the best implementation, or should there be something like wikitext that users can copy and when pasted and saved, it will be migrated to visual mode.

- Unless I misunderstand something, the moveClaim script only does them one at a time (though it does make them easy to move) - the proposal here is to select many claims at once to copy and/or move to another item. ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:10, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
