Modern Interface for Video Course's

NoN Unclear proposal / Requires community consensus

  • Problem: Create an extension only for Wikiversity so that author's can have more easy options when adding 'Video Courses' & wiki functionality will be unchanged.
  • Who would benefit: The Wikiversity users , course authors .all the learning community that Wikimedia Foundation project can support.it will certainly give a boost to fulfill Wikiversity & the wikimedias goal.
  • Proposed solution:

Front-end standards group doing this type of tusk from a long time.

Community tech team could get valuable insight by consulting with them.

"Kaltura" already have most of the video related solutions that are required. we should contact with them to get assistance. The mw:Extension:TimedMediaHandler tech Team would know better.

Discussion

It's not clear exactly what the new interface should look like, or what solutions it should offer that are missing in the current interface. Furthermore, I believe this needs community consensus first. I recommend brainstorming some ideas with your community, finding consensus for how the new interface should look and function, then re-propose in next year's survey. Finally, I suspect creating a new extension from scratch might be a long-term effort that is beyond our scope. For now I'm going to archive this proposal, but please let me know if I'm misunderstanding you. Thanks for your participation! MusikAnimal (WMF) (talk) 00:00, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
