Diffs to deleted content

  • Problem: I want to compare deleted content to live revisions under the same title, or live/deleted revisions for a different title. This is especially useful to check whether a page is a substantive copy of the deleted content and is a key tell to determine whether the author is a sockpuppet. I could do this via Special:Diff or the API... but it is very difficult to discover the revision ID. There should also be associated UI improvements to page history, Special:Undelete and Special:Deletedcontributions to integrate this functionality.

Not opposed to this, but a better tool to this end would be to have a bot look at all articles created at previously deleted titles and note when recreated content substantially duplicates the previously deleted content. BD2412 T 19:43, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
