Make the article text wrap around the Contents box

Problem: There's this huge gap at the top of a wikipedia article that is determined by the size of the Contents Box. On articles with a lot of headings, this can become pretty ludicrous.
Proposed solution: I think that the text should wrap around the contents box the way text often wraps around images on other websites. This would be a small adjustment, but it would be a major quality of life boost on larger articles.
Who would benefit: All Wiki readers

This should probably be in the "Reading" section. That said, 1) how the table of contents functions will change soon with Desktop Improvements, and 2) your suggestion of having the article text wrap around it seems decidedly like a negative experience with the contents that are usually to the right. In specific articles, even if these weren't true, there are some templates like en:Template:toclimit that can limit the length. Oppose As noted this is more of a reading issue. However ... in the linked article the solution might be to write a proper full-length intro of some kind (yes, even lists can and should have them), thereby pushing the contents box down somewhat. It's also a unique situation since there's two boxes on the other side. And any text in there would be sandwiched, which is generally avoided in layout both on and offline.
Now, if we could find a way to make text corresponding to the space taken up by the art on either side left- or right-justify automatically, we might have something to work with IMO. Daniel Case (talk) 18:26, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
