• Problem: Manually replacing author name string (P2093) with author (P50) is time consuming, and risks loosing metadata
• Proposed solution: A tool (gadget?) to replace author name string (P2093) with author (P50) given the QID of the author.

    • @Pigsonthewing: Can you explain what you mean here? The issue is starting from a person (given QID) rather than from a name string? Author disambiguator already has an author page, it would be straightforward I think to create a link from that page to the name-matching page with variations on the author name; but I'm not sure that's what you're asking for here???
