Who is this Conference for?
This Conference looks for to bring to people of the following publics:
- Members of communities of Wikimedia of Latin American countries, especially those that work like people organisers, voluntary and creators of content to reduce the brechas of knowledge and representation related with the climatic change, the native rights and the epistemic justice.
- External allies of the movement Wikimedia of Latin American countries linked to the communication on the climatic change, the environment, the sustentabilidad and the native perspectives. They can be allied linked to the academy, organisations of the civil society, the public institutions and of communities originarias (particularly of Andean native communities and amazónicas).
In which languages will the Conference be held?
The languages of the Conference will be the Spanish and the Portuguese. There will be simultaneous translation in Spanish and Portuguese.

How send a proposal for the program?
The form to present proposals of program was opened from 24 May to 16 July 2024.
On the form
- The form has two sections. In the first section we ask you some basic questions about your relationship to the Conference, what is the language of your choice, among other things. In the second section we ask you specific questions about your program proposal.
- Once you submit the form, you'll see a message indicating that you've reached the end of the survey.
- You won't receive a confirmation email. However, if you want to check if your submission was received, you can always write at $addr.
Will there be online streaming?
No, however, we will generate documentation to ensure that the learning and conversations we will have during the event are shared.
On the scholarships
The application for the scholarship is personal and individual. There are two types of scholarships.
Full scholarship
For regional participants. Includes transportation to Huaraz from their hometown, accommodation, meals, limited medical insurance, and local transportation in Huaraz. The scholarship application period closed on July 7, 2024, at 11:59 PM UTC-5.
Partial scholarship
For national participants. Includes accommodation, meals, limited medical insurance, and local transportation in Huaraz. Applications will open soon.
Is it mandatory to submit a presentation proposal to apply for a grant?
No, the fellowship application process is separate from the program proposal process. A session proposal may be accepted at the Conference, but that does not necessarily make the proponent eligible for a fellowship.
Conversely, it is not necessary to submit a session proposal to be considered for a scholarship.
I can complete the scholarship application in my own language.
The scholarship application could be submitted by completing the form in Spanish and Portuguese.
I would like to attend on my own. Can I request a letter of invitation?
Yes, if you are interested in attending and you are an independent person from an organization outside the Wikimedia movement—such as an educational institution, an indigenous community, or a public entity—you can write to us at wikiaccionperu(_AT_)gmail.com telling us about your case.
