Royal Opera House (Valletta)[edit]

Coordinates: 35.89660°, 14.51031°

Short description

The Royal Opera House in Valletta was one of the most beautiful buildings in Malta's capital. It was opened in 1866 and in 1973 it was damaged by fire. In 1877 it was restored, but in 1942, during World War II, it collapsed because of the bombing. Only in 2013 the ruins were redesigned by the Italian architect Renzo Piano and today it's a square (Pjazza Teatru Rjal) and open-air theatre.
