Dallung Wikimedians Community(DWC)/Overview

The Dallung Wikimedians Community is a group of volunteers who work to improve the content on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. They are active in various areas, including translation, outreach, and research. The community is based in the Kumbungu District, Ghana specifically located in the Dallung community. The community was formed in 2021. It works to contribute to free knowledge and promote open data on the internet space. The group organizes events, workshops, and meetups to increase awareness of Wikimedia projects. It also works to help new users learn how to contribute to Wikimedia projects. The Dallung Wikimedians Community also provides resources and support to help new Wikimedians become active in the Wikimedia movement.

Objectives[edit]

To promote and encourage the use of Wikimedia projects in the Kumbungu district.
To support and facilitate the development of educational materials, resources, and activities based on the content of the Wikimedia projects.
To assist in the development of local Wikimedia-related projects and activities.
To promote the use of open-source and free software technologies.
To support and promote the use of open-access resources.
To serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge related to Wikimedia projects.
To build a strong and active community of Dallung Wikimedians.
To foster collaboration and partnership among Dallung Wikimedians.
To provide guidance and support to new Wikimedians in the Kumbungu District.
To advocate for the free sharing of knowledge and information.
