Decolonising knowledge in Switzerland is a project aiming at involving Swiss GLAMs, researchers, existing networks and volunteers in making open content related to colonisation, provenance, restitution, power dynamics and global critical perspectives available on Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects, and engaging communities in improving articles and data.
The project focuses on a series of exhibitions organised in Switzerland in 2024-2025 as a starting point to engage GLAMs, researchers, existing networks and volunteers in improving Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects.

- 15 January 2025, online, webinar to introduce and present the project Decolonising knowledge.
- 18-19 January 2025, online and in Zurich, edit-a-thon.
- 18-19 January 2025, Zurich, tour of four exhibitions. Documentation about the four exhibitions:
- 10 April 2025, National Museum, Zurich, 14:00-17:00 CEST. Training for cultural institutions by Diego Haettenschwiler in German. How to make content from GLAMs available for Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects and how to edit Wikipedia.
- 30 April 2025, online, "Chimney sweeps and child labour" at the Museum Val Verzasca, a presentation of the museum section by the museum curator Veronica Carmine.
- 6 May 2025, online, presentation of the exhibition "Autobiographie d’une selle Métis" (MCAH, Lasusanne).
- 20 May 2025, online, presentation of the exhibition "Roots" (KBH.G, Basel / Arma Museum, Ubud,Bali).
- Roundtable "Decolonising Knowledge on Wikipedia" at Wikimania Nairobi, 8 August 2025, in Nairobi and online.
