Remarks	Vision and Objectives

Deoband Community Wikimedia (abbreviated as DCW) is a recognized user-group affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. Named after the Deoband Islamic seminary, DCW aims at improving Wikipedia and its sister projects with knowledge and information related to but not limited to global Muslim academia, scholarship, history and culture, at a global level, in any language.

Established on 31 July 2021, DCW was recognised by the Affiliation Committee on 16 January 2022. Its major initiatives include DCW Conversation Hour, Heritage Lens, and Train a Wikipedian, a residential leadership development program.

• 24-04-2026: The 40th DCW Conversation Hour, Youth Engagement in Wikimedia, is scheduled on 30 April 2026 at 6:00 PM IST. The conversation features Ndahiro Derrick Alter, founder of Wikimedia Rwanda. Registration is mandatory: register from here.
