The dedicated participants of the 'Enhancing Indic Oral Culture on Wikimedia Projects' initiative will gather in Delhi on the 13th and 14th of December, 2025, for an enriching two-day event. This gathering will provide a platform to exchange ideas, receive specialized training, and collaboratively brainstorm the future of this impactful initiative, all while fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Together, we aim to deepen our commitment to preserving and promoting Indic oral culture in the digital age.

Day1 Report

Day 1 of the Meetup, held on 13 December 2025, focused on building a strong foundation for collaboration, shared understanding, and participant engagement. The day began with a welcome and icebreaker session that helped participants connect and align expectations, followed by sessions on creating secondary material and a roadmap-building exercise that clarified project goals and workflows. Discussions on relationship building, partnerships, and future involvement emphasized trust, sustainability, and long-term collaboration. After the lunch and demonstration of the transcription tool the day concluded with rich participant-led presentations sharing individual documentation journeys, experiences, and learnings, followed by closing remarks that reflected on key takeaways and set the context for the days ahead.
