ESEAP Conference 2026 will be the 4th regional conference for Wikimedia communities throughout the ESEAP region. ESEAP stands for East, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. The conference will take place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 15–17 May 2026. The theme for the 2026 conference is "New Era of ESEAP: Pioneer the Future Together!". The conference is aiming to provide approximate of 100 scholarships with around 150 participants in total, professional live interpretation for multiple ESEAP languages... and more, save the date!

Background
[edit]East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific are a developing region within the Wikimedia community. There is a significant number of Wikimedia contributors across the regions, and we have grown the community since our first meeting in 2018 and continue to work towards establishing a well-managed hub. This conference will bring participants from various ESEAP communities together to strengthen collaboration and better understand the issues faced in the region and to look for solutions.
The last ESEAP regional meeting was hosted by Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia in Kota Kinabalu in 2024, and an ESEAP Strategy Summit was held in Manila in May 2025 by 4 communities of the Philippines. We aim to connect people of the Wikimedia movement within the ESEAP region, to share ideas, and to build regional collaborations.
