- Q：ビザの申請は必要ですか？
- A：主催者のウェブサイトをご確認願います。居住地が「ビザ必要」（VISA required）の指定地の場合は、カンファレンス参加の電子ビザ申請について主催者が補佐します。参加者が独力でお住まいの地域の台湾大使館や代表処に申請しないよう推奨され、特に補助金受給者の場合は、主催者経由のビザ申請を経ないと旅費宿泊費の立替金は返金されない点にご留意ください。
- Q：私は中華人民共和国本土／香港／マカオから参加します。台湾の入台書類はどうやって手に入れたらよいですか？
- A：香港とマカオ出身の参加者には直接、ご本人から電子ビザの申請をお願いします。それぞれ香港ならびにマカオに所在する台北経済文化弁事処（Taipei Economic and Cultural Office）の規約に従ってください。ウィキメディア台湾協会経由でカンファレンス参加用の電子ビザを申請する必要はありません。中華人民共和国出身の参加者には個人として参加登録をしていた抱く必要があり、両側の政府双方が発した指令、また場合によっては外部要因に対応するため、個別の審査に進んでいただきます。ウィキメディア台湾協会より参加者のビザ申請にお役に立てるのは、行政書類の発給に限定されます。
- Q: If my scholarship flight is to Taipei (TPE), how do I get to Kaohsiung? Are travel expenses covered by the scholarship?
- A: Our staffs will assist you at the airport, including delivering you traffic card and high-speed rail ticket.
- Q: Internet Connectivity: local SIM card or eSIM?
- A: It depends on different situation any your needs:
- Usually purchasing prepaid cards/eSIM from OTAs or service providers like Klook/AirAlo or so will be the cheaper.
- Your telecom might provide international roaming but it's usually more expensive but reliable some times, and choose this if you need IP address from home country.
- You can also purchase physical SIM cards / eSIM upon arrival at the TPE/KHH airport, provided by Taiwanese telecom companies Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, and Far EasTone.
- Q: Are credit cards generally accepted?
- A: International EMV (VISA/Mastercard/JCB) Credit/Debit cards are accepted in chain stores, department stores, malls, CVS, fast food, restaurants.
- Amex/Diners Club/China UnionPay might work but they are less accepted and known to be rejected sometimes.
- For individual stores, stands, night markets: expect cash only.
- The iPass card (provided in the conference swag pack), is also accepted in transportation methods like MRT, TR, Bus (remember to tap when you get on AND off!), and in some stores like CVS, drink joint, fast food chains. Reloadable at CVS and Metro stations using cash.
- The easiest way to check: find acceptance logo at door front, or simply show the card to ask clerks :)
- For Japanese Visitors, PayPay bridge service is just launched, look for TWQR acceptance and scan with your PayPay app. [1]
- Q: How much cash do I need?
- A: The amount varies and it depends on how are you going spend. Usually 2000~3000 TWD / 100 USD per day should be enough.
- Depending on the exchange rates, you can change money in your home country, TPE/KHH airports upon arrival (Bank of Taiwan and Mega Bank), or withdraw from ATMs if you have bank cards running with international banking networks.
- Q: How do I use public bikes?
- A: Kaohsiung's public bike service provider YouBike is open for foreigners to rent. However as a foreigner you need to enroll injury insurance, and pay refundable deposit using your credit card in advance.
- Q: Timetable for transportation? How much does it cost / How long does it take from X to Y?

- Bus: Varies from line to line. Bus+ is an app to track the live bus schedule & location.
参加登録／費用の支払い
- Q：参加申請の書類は全て記入しました。そろそろ台湾行きの旅程を組んでもよいですか？
- A：もう少しお待ちください。参加者の皆産全員にユニバーサル行動規範（UCoC）に準拠し、安全で快適なカンファレンス環境を整えるため、参加申請の過程は公開しており、2段階で構成しています。参加申請をした皆さんは全員、第一にウィキメディア財団によるセキュリティ審査課程を受けていただき、その後、第2に参加費請求のお知らせをお届けします。その料金の入金後、QRコード入りのチケットを発給し、それをもって参加登録が確定します。もしもそれを待たずになんらかの損失が発生した場合は、参加申請をした人の責に帰するものとします。
- Q：セキュリティ審査にかかる日数は？
- A：なるべく期間を短くするよう、最善を尽くす所存です。ぜひメール着信をちょくちょく確認してください。
- Q：申請が却下されましたら理由をどうしても聞きたいです。
- A：それは残念ですが、個人情報保護の立場から、主催者側には申請が却下された理由は開示されていません。ご質問はいずれも、ウィキメディア財団信頼安全部門に宛てて ca
wikimedia.org までお問い合わせ願えませんでしょうか。
- Q：台湾以外からの参加者ですが、 PayPal は使っていません。他に支払い方法はありませんか？
- A： PayPal の口座がない場合も、クレジットカードのお支払い先を PayPal 経由にご指定いただけます。その場合は、PayPal の登録は不要です。
- Q：クレジットカードを持っていないし、台湾の住民でもないんです。現地で支払ってもよいですか？
- A：現地払いの場合は、参加枠の確保はできません。必ず期限内にお支払いください。クレジットカードや PayPal をご利用のご友人やご家族に手助けを頼む方法もご検討願います。（もしもおられるなら）台湾在住のご友人にいったん立て替えて現地通貨で指定口座に振込みをお願いすることと、どのように借りた金額を返されるか相談してみてください。
- Q：私は現地参加者ですが、居住地が台湾なので料金をクレジットカードか PayPal で支払えませんか？
- A：現地の金融法による規制により、PayPal は台湾の口座もしくは当地クレジットカード会社の口座との出入金を処理できません。
