This page documents the second endorsement cycle for the ESEAP Community Connector (ECC) under the ESEAP Hub Charter. The ESEAP Community Connectors, or ECCs, are a trusted group of ESEAP Wikimedians authorized to represent communities in Hub affairs and serve as the candidate pool and electorate for electing the members of the ESEAP Steering Committee (StC).

New ECCs are selected through a self-nomination process followed by a 14-day endorsement period. Candidates receiving at least thirty (30) net “Support” endorsements from eligible ESEAP Wikimedians will become ECC. ECC members do not require re-election and have no term limit unless dismissed by process.

Community Connector’s eligibility

The requirements for an ESEAP Wikimedian to be eligible to become a potential ECC are the following:

Movement contribution:

Registered on any Wikimedia project for over 3 years,
with more than 1,000 total edits across all projects,
and at least 100 edits across all projects in the past one year before the start of the nomination period.

Governance experience (at least one of the following four):

Current or former Wikimedia Foundation Board member, full-time paid employee for at least one year, or committee member.
Current or former board member (or high committee) or full-time paid employee of a Wikimedia affiliate for at least one year.
Administrator on any Wikimedia project for at least one year.
Management or Board position in a non-Wikimedia NGO for at least one year.

Others:

Not permanently banned from any project. (Bans for account security reasons do not count.)

ESEAP Staff will confirm the eligibility of nominees and will finalize the final list of candidates for the endorsement period.

Endorser eligibility

Any ESEAP Wikimedian who meets the following criteria can endorse candidates to become an ECC:

not currently blocked globally;
not site-wide blocked in more than one public project;
not currently locked;
not a bot;
registered on any Wikimedia project at least 90 days before 17 June 2026;
have made at least 300 edits before 17 June 2026 across all Wikimedia projects; and
have made at least 20 edits between 17 June 2025 and 17 June 2026 across all Wikimedia projects.

Endorsers should declare their status as an ESEAP Wikimedian, mentioning their affiliations, specifically a Wikimedia project and/or Wikimedia movement affiliates (such as chapters, thematic groups, or user groups) related to the ESEAP community/region.

Special provisions

ECC nominations generally happen every May and November of the year. June 2026 is an exception due to conflicting schedules in May 2026.

For this Cycle 2, we encourage people from ESEAP countries that are not yet represented or underrepresented among the current ECCs. We encourage especially women, gender minorities, and nominations from Japan, Myanmar, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam and emerging communities of Brunei, Cambodia, People's Republic of China, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Pacific island nations of Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

The candidates listed below have applied to become Community Connector of the ESEAP Hub and acknowledge that they are able and willing to invest time and energy in coordinating the work of the Hub with the community. Candidates who pass the endorsement will be Community Connector and be invited to join formally.
