Introduction: Hello, my name is Johnny Alegre (nickname for Juan Bautista Alegre) from Manila, Philippines. I started in en-wiki exactly 20 years and 8 months ago; on 16 November 2006. A significant milestone for me is successfully completing the 100 Wiki Days challenge (one article every day for 100 days.) I’ve made 24,000+ quality global edits so far.

Movement contribution: Community Engagement: I co-founded Pilipinas Panorama Community (PPC) — an active thematic organization seen on Meta-Wiki and its own website: https://pilipinaspanorama.org. PPC pioneered educational expositions of Freedom of Panorama; GLAM photoshoots and meetups; and became a participant of Wiki Loves Folklore and Feminism and Folklore. Movement Strategy: I was engaged as a Wikimedia Movement Charter Ambassador (2023-2024) to disseminate the proposed Movement Charter drafts and conduct discussions.

Governance experience: I am a member of the Wikimedia Affiliations Committee (AffCom), responsible for guiding and supporting Wikimedia affiliates globally, including those in the ESEAP region.

• Beforehand, I was with the ESEAP Interim Hub Committee, helping to shape the governance and collaborative structure of our hub.
• Afterwards, I was voted as member of the ESEAP Preparatory Council, that transitioned into the ESEAP Community Connector (ECC) that we have today.

Statement: My aim is to continue the work we started — to the benefit of ESEAP’s affiliates and its emerging communities — in all ESEAP countries. To uphold Language Diversity, Education and collaboration. Finally, to open avenues of endeavour for ESEAP Hub to become a centrepiece of Free Knowledge, Heritage and Culture in our part of the world.
