Introduction:
Hi, I am Vanj Padilla, I registered last November 2012 and my home wiki is Wikidata, but also contribute actively on Commons and Pangasinan Wikipedia. I am a Wikiwomen advocate and an active community builder in the Philippines.

My main community is the Shared Knowledge Asia Pacific (SKAP) in 2023 and has activated 5 WikiClubs in the Philippines namely Wikiclub Cebu, Wikiclub Zamboanga, Wikiclub Davao, Wikiclub Iligan and Wikiclub Iloilo( launching soon) . My responsibility is leading, growing and capacitating young volunteers and editors, training the trainers and organizers as well as strategic partnership building within and outside of the Philippines.

My total edits count up to 135, 516 and last year, my numbers totaled 28,808 edits

Governance experience:

  • Currently the Founding Chairperson and a Director of SKAP
  • I have organised a conferences, summits, and events in the ESEAP region as well as participated as COT in two Wikimanias, 2021 and 2023.
  • I am also the Co-founder of Wikiwomen Summit at Wikimania since 2023 up to the present.
  • I also served as one of the the core organising team for ESEAP Summit 2025 and was as part of the ESEAP Preparatory Council.

Statement:
I wish to renew my role as Community Connector since being part of the past ESEAP Preparatory Council, I observed how the hub evolved from plan to fruition. I am deeply focused in growth and sustainability. As a community growth strategist, I continue to do research, find ways and discover best practices on how can we sustain the movement, especially women editors in the age of disruptive technology such as AI. As a community connector, I can contribute my knowledge, experience, expertise, strategy and lessons learned to the hub as well as communities within the region.
