Self Introduction

• Organizational Experience:

I have been involved in the Wikimedia movement for over 22 years, beginning as a Wikipedia editor in December 2002. Along with other Filipino Wikimedians, I co-founded Wikimedia Philippines (WMPH) in 2010 (now the Wiki Society of the Philippines) and have been part of its Board of Trustees until 2017 and have taken several roles including Chairman, President, Secretary, and Treasurer. I also took over as the project manager for WMPH’s largest grant project, overseeing its execution and reporting.

I am very familiar with the ESEAP Hub and its activities having joined numerous community calls, attended Wikimania 2023 in Singapore and the ESEAP Conference 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, and, more recently, being a member of the Core Organizing Team for the ESEAP Strategy Summit 2025 and leading its Scholarship Committee.

Beyond Wikimedia, I am also heavily involved with the OpenStreetMap (OSM) community since 2007. In 2020 I was elected and served a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) and currently chair the Foundation’s Local Chapters and Communities Working Group (roughly similar to the Wikimedia Foundation’s Affiliations Committee).
