The ESEAP Youth Group is the ESEAP Hub's initiative in supporting the regional youth. We're in the middle of setting up, and are in the process of defining a strategic direction. Our overall mission is to empower the next generation of ESEAP leaders by establishing a safe, inclusive environment for peer learning, capacity building, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Who We Are
We are an initiative by active young volunteers from the ESEAP region, united by a passion for Wikimedia projects and open knowledge across East, South East Asia, and the Pacific.
How We Meet
The group is expecting to host online meetings focusing on activities, plans, and knowledge exchange. Everyone is welcome to attend and contribute their ideas and experiences. More information will be provided soon!
Goals
[edit]The ESEAP Youth Group aims to empower young editors and Wikimedians from across the region by providing a platform to share experiences, good practices, and opportunities with the support of the ESEAP Hub, both locally and regionally. We aim for the Youth group to:

| Regional connection: Build a strong network of young Wikimedians across the diverse ESEAP region, fostering collaboration and solidarity. | |
| Leadership development: Nurture confident, skilled young leaders who can drive Wikimedia initiatives within their local communities. | |
| Peer learning: Creating and providing a safe space for sharing experiences, best practices, and lessons learned across languages and cultures. |
How to participate?
[edit]Who can join?
The group is open to young Wikimedians who meet the following criteria:
- 16 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- Citizen or resident of the ESEAP region, or an active contributor to ESEAP-related projects (inclusive)
- Has a valid Wikimedia account with verifiable activity in the past 1 year
- In good standing with the ESEAP community, youth, and at large
Steps to join
- Application: Fill out the official registration form.
- Verification: The coordinators will review your eligibility.
- Onboarding: Once approved, you'll be added to the member roster.
Membership application
To maintain an Active Member status, you are encouraged to:
- Participate in online meetings
- Engage in working groups
- Actively get involved in group activities
Note: Members who are inactive for an extended period may be moved to inactive status.
