Overview
[edit]The EditHer Africa Contest is a monthly editathon hosted by Africa Wiki Women that is aimed towards improving and creating content about African women through Wikipedia and its sister projects. This contest focuses on bridging the gender gap through community-driven content creation and improvement across various Wikimedia platforms.
Our Goal:
- Improving and editing 1400 articles about African women in various sectors
- Upload quality images of African women
- Improving 1000 Wikidata items about Women in these fields.
- Documenting quotes of these notable women through Wikiquote
- Host monthly online training based on the month’s focus and empower new and existing editors to contribute through this contest.
Targeted audience: This contest is open to women and other Wikimedians who are passionate about contributing to open knowledge and bridging knowledge gaps through the Wikimedia projects.
How to participate:
- Interested participants are to register via the monthly registration link to enable adequate tracking and review processes.
- Attend the online trainings for each month’s editathon
- Edit and improve articles and items relevant to the contest using the monthly list.
