Abstract:
When you introduce Wikipedia in an educational setting, what exactly are you trying to achieve? Facts alone won’t hold an audience’s attention; we need to frame Wikipedia in ways that connect with what educators and students care about. Whether it’s fostering digital literacy, demonstrating Wikipedia’s role in research, or addressing skepticism, a successful presentation starts with a clear communicative goal.

This session is about making Wikipedia presentations effective - clear, goal-driven, and relevant to the audience. Through practical exercises, participants will learn how to tailor their message, structure their talk, and choose examples that resonate. By the end, they will be able to shape their Wikipedia narrative into something that sparks interest, invites discussion, and leaves a lasting impact.
