Strategic Dancing: Building Wiki Partnerships Across Campus

Abstract:
In this session, we want to investigate:

• Opportunities and challenges of building wiki partnerships across departments, campuses, and college systems. Exploring tensions of bureaucracy and community, and the unifying "encyclopedia factor" that can be a spur to cross-disciplinary efforts.
• Our own case studies at The Charles University in Prague and The City University of New York.
• A group exercise where participants can draw a model of their own blossoming collaborations in the shape of a flower, building on local strengths at their particular institution, and then discovering fruitful overlaps within the global Wikimedia movement.
