Abstract:
This session will explore the evolving patterns of engagement with medical content on English Wikipedia over the past decade. Drawing on page view data from over 1,600 systematically selected articles, the presentation highlights a steady decline in readership since the peak during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will discuss the implications of this trend for medical educators, students, and healthcare professionals, as well as the growing influence of alternative platforms and generative AI.
