The article focuses on the experiences and challenges that students of the Department of Information Studies and Librarianship at Masaryk University experienced when integrating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into the creation of encyclopedic articles on Wikipedia as part of the course ‘Writing Expert Texts’. Students learned how to use AI in text structure, searching for expert sources, translation or proofreading, but at the same time, they had to be aware of the need to be critical and to verify the information provided.
