The Workshops Wikimedia & Education are back in Brazil
35th Wikimedia & Education Workshop
The 35th Wikimedia & Education Workshop, which took place last month, featured three presentations. Marco Mello, associate professor at the Institute of Biosciences at USP, spoke about the use of Wikipedia as a tool in undergraduate classes about animal ecology.
Danielly Figueredo and Fábio Azevedo, from the Mais Teoria da História na Wiki Project, presented the Wikipedia mini-course for university professors, developed by the group and which will take place between April 2 and May 23.
Finally, Artur Corrêa Souza and Alexander Hilsenbeck, from Wikimedia Brazil, showed a new tool developed by WMB, the Research Group Profile Generator, which aims to facilitate the creation of pages for Brazilian research groups on Wikiversity.
Edit-a-thon Heloísa Teixeira
In Rio de Janeiro, WMB supported the organization of the Heloísa Teixeira Edit-a-thon at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). This in-person activity was organized by Professor Adriana Madeira for her undergraduate students in the Fundamentals of Brazilian Literary Culture course.

The goal was to increase the quality and quantity of information about female intellectuals on the internet in Portuguese. The name of the edit-a-thon was a tribute to Heloísa Buarque de Hollanda, a Brazilian essayist, writer, editor and literary critic who passed away in March.
Workshop Architectures of the Global South for the Wiki
Wikimedia Brazil also went to Escola da Cidade, in São Paulo, to hold the Global South Architecture Workshop for Wiki, in partnership with Professor Marianna Boghosian Al Assal.
This activity was designed so that third-year undergraduate students in the Architecture and Urban Planning course could learn how to edit on Wikipedia.
