Wikivoyage in Has region, Northern Albania
14 students from Skënderbeu High School of Krumë, along with three supporting teachers of ICT and Geography, participated in the workshop. They learned about the principles of free knowledge and gained knowledge editing, and contributing to platforms like Wikivoyage and Wikidata.
Throughout the activity, students improved 29 existing articles and created 2 new articles on Wikivoyage. Additionally, they made 12 edits of items on Wikidata, helping to enrich structured data about the coordinates of different travel destinations. This initiative ensures collaborative editing and digital research skills, while also promoting the visibility of Northern Albania’s attractions through open knowledge platforms.
This activity marks an encouraging first step, and more contributions from the students of Skënderbeu High School are expected to continue enriching Wikivoyage and Wikidata in the future.
