Read more…  The University Isabel I in Spain has launched a new training initiative introducing teaching and research staff to Wikidata as a tool for open science. The course combined progressive hands-on activities with participants' own academic fields, moving from analysing and improving existing data to creating new items, querying structured data, and exploring applications in teaching and research. Read more… As Wiktionary is a perfect platform for aspiring language activists and heritage students—requiring less expertise, unlike some other wiki projects—Wiktionary workshops and edit-a-thons are essential tools for recruiting new community members. They facilitate networking between Wikimedians, endangered language activists, and native speakers. Read more…  Heritage Conservation Integration arranged a collaborative project with the Department of Architecture at Rivers State University, working with Arc. Ramota Stephen-Obagah, involving over 121 students. Postgraduates as assessed coursework and undergraduates voluntarily who learned to edit Wikipedia, use Wikidata, contribute to Wikimedia Commons, and use tools like Pattypan, advocating for open education in the region. Read more…  The growth of Wiki Clubs in educational institutions is strengthening opportunities for Filipino students and educators to participate in the Wikimedia movement, develop digital and information literacy skills, and contribute local knowledge to the world's largest collection of free knowledge. Among the communities supported by PhilWiki Community is the newly established CSPC Wiki Club at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, which demonstrates how Wiki Clubs can serve as bridges between education and the Wikimedia movement turning students and educators from consumers of information into active contributors to free and reliable knowledge.
