Egypt Wikimedians User Group/Editathons/Orientation sessions for students

The Egypt Wikimedians User Group (EWUG), through its initiative of Wikipedian Light of Knowledge (WLK), organized an online workshop to train students to become editors on the Arabic Wikipedia.

Dr. Walaa Abdel Moneim presented two orientation sessions during the workshop at the beginning of October 2025, and also followed up on the inquiries of the participating students on the WhatsApp group.

Sessions

Session I

1 October

• This session covered how to document sources and add references, include links to sister projects and external resources, and remove orphan status from articles. The session lasted four hours.

Session II

3 October

• This session covered how to upload files to Wikimedia Commons. The session lasted four hours.
