Egypt Wikimedians User Group/GLAM/Alexandria National Museum 2025

Following the closing session of the WikiMed and Wikidata workshops, Egypt Wikimedians User Group organized a special visit to the Alexandria National Museum on Thursday, April 24th. The participants strolled through historic Fouad Street before heading to the museum, which houses treasures that narrate Alexandria’s story through the ages.
Our colleague Suheila explained the artifacts and guided the group, adding a rich educational dimension to the visit. The day concluded with capturing dozens of high-quality photos of the museum’s exhibits, which will be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons to enrich open-access content about Egyptian heritage.
A total of 22 attendees visited the museum, including two encyclopedia administrators—Ahmed Naji and Walaa Abdel Moneim—along with editors Donia El-Domiaty and Amr Fathy, and photographer Samar Kamal El-Din
