From 31 January to 8 February 2025, Egypt Wikimedians User Group (EWUG) organized several photo trips in Luxor and Qena. These photo trips included tourist and archaeological sites and festivals like Mawlids and Mermahs. Members of the group took many photos to be used in various Wikimedia projects, most notably WikiCommons. The photo trips were specifically dedicated to Luxor following the Afro-Asian Union's selection of the city as the world’s first Capital of Culture, History, and Heritage on January 26, 2025. Our group will use the photos taken of the Mawlids and Mermahs to participate in Wiki Loves Folklore competition.
