Event:AWW Roundtable community meetup

The Africa Wiki Women Roundtable Community is a bi-annual session that brings together community contributors, organizers, and affiliates of the African Wiki Women (AWW) initiative for open dialogue and shared learning. It offers a safe, inclusive space to share experiences, evaluate AWW’s impact, and provide constructive feedback.

Since its launch, AWW has amplified African women’s voices on Wikimedia, closed gender and knowledge gaps, and empowered editors through capacity building, leadership roles, and targeted campaigns. This meetup also serves as a key checkpoint for co-creating recommendations that reflect on-the-ground realities and guide the initiative’s next steps.

Objectives of the Roundtable Meetup

Evaluate the impact of our community programs/activities over the past six months on visibility, participation, and skills, and set goals for the next six months.
Review outcomes of AWW programs globally on gender equity, leadership growth, and African women's content expansion and contributions, and address community questions.
Gather feedback and actionable recommendations to boost inclusivity, sustainability, partnerships, and overall relevance.

This session brings together Wikimedians, project leaders, and volunteers from across Africa to celebrate achievements, pinpoint needs, and co-create a community-driven roadmap for AWW’s next phase.
