Event:Ban Wiki! 8-12

Introduction

The Wikipedia on Aruba project host monthly Ban Wiki! where you can drop by to ask your questions about the project, meet other Wiki-minded people and start editing. The next edition will be held on 8 of December 2025, from 5.00 to 7.00 pm, at the Scol di Arte, in San Nicolas.

In this session, participants will learn how to get started with Wikipedia through a simple, beginner-friendly introduction. We’ll cover the basics step by step, including key concepts, practical tips, and useful built-in tools that make contributing easier and more enjoyable.

To actively take part, please bring a laptop, tablet, or phone. Be sure to create your Wikipedia account before the event. If you’re unsure how to set up your account, you can watch the tutorial video in the need help section.

Aruban Art & Folklore

This Wikipedia edit-a-thon focuses on writing and improving articles about Aruban Art and folklore using references from the UNOCA Aruba collection on coleccion.aw, internet archive and other relevant open resource materials to expand and strengthen Wikipedia’s coverage of Aruba’s cultural heritage.

By participating, you help Papiamento grow stronger, share knowledge on Wikipedia, meet new people, and learn new skills. Feeling inspired? Start gathering information on local artists and explore Pap-Wikipedia for articles that could be created or improved. It’s a great way to help share Aruba’s culture with a wider audience!

During the workshop, refreshments will be provided for all participants!

6:45 PM – 6:55 PM: Reflection & Q&A
