Event:Ban wiki! 14-10
Introduction
[edit]The Wikipedia on Aruba project host monthly Ban Wiki! were you can drop by to ask your questions about the project, meet other Wiki-minded people and start editing.
The next edition will be held on 14 of October, from 5.00 to 7.00 pm, at the Biblioteca Nacional Aruba, San Nicolas.
This edition is all about a Wikimedia Commons training workshop. You’ll be introduced to the Wikipedia on Aruba project and learn how to upload your own photographs to Wikimedia Commons the media library behind Wikimedia projects like Wiki Loves Monuments.
This is a beginner-friendly, basic-level training for people who are just getting started.
If you want to do some editing, bring a laptop, phone or tablad! Make sure to create your Wikipedia account before the event. If you’re not sure how to do this, you can learn by watching this video.
Please bring some digital photos you made yourself for uploading and a laptop or your phone.
By participating, you will contribute freely licensed images to support open knowledge, help document Aruba’s cultural heritage through openly accessible media and expand the visual representation of Aruba on Wikimedia platforms, making cultural content available to a global audience.
And there will be food & beverages :)!
