Overview

[edit]

This is a 1-hour training session designed for speakers who are planning to deliver lightning talks at the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2025.

Wojciech Pędzich, a member of the Programme Committee, a former Polish Wikipedia administrator, would share tips for a good successful lightning talk, and also guide if needed, in order to prepare speakers. Lightning talks are a very important format to get a sense of a project, get interested in an initiative, but they are very time limited, so it makes sense to plan what to include there, and what to share with people who want to know more during a break or over lunch :)

If you have slides already ready -- you would be able to get a second opinion from the Programme Committee. If you do not have slides yet -- please come prepared with an outline of what you plan to (not) include in your lightning talk.

Everyone is welcome, but the event is aimed at the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2025 lightning talk speakers, especially at ones that are less experienced. But even if you are an experienced speaker, you might consider joining to share your tips with less experienced speakers as of now.

This session will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 16:00 UTC (check your local time here)
