Contest Theme: African Women in Sports

The July edition launches the EditHer Africa contest, and this edition's focus is on improving articles about African women athletes and underrepresented athletes who need recognition.

Through this month’s editathon, we are inviting Wikimedia community members who are interested in gender-focused topics, sports enthusiasts, amateur historians, and students (especially studying sports, journalism, history, or gender studies) to join this quest to improve the content of African women in this field.

Objectives

Improve the quantity and quality of Wikipedia articles on African women athletes.
Address content gaps on gender and regional representation in sports.
