Event:EditHer Africa Contest 2026
Overview
[edit]The EditHer Africa Contest 2026 is an editathon organised by Africa Wiki Women to create and improve content about African women through various Wikimedia projects, including Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons. This contest will comprise training sessions that will subsequently equip members of the community with the skills to be able to contribute effectively, all aimed towards bridging the gender gap.
Objectives
[edit]- Create and edit atleast 50 new Wikipedia articles for African women
- Host both virtual and physical training that caters for the editathon's monthly needs and empower new and existing editors to contribute through this contest.
- Upload quality images on Wikimedia Commons
- Create, improve and edit 200 Wikidata items about African women
