Feedback from EduWiki Hub Conversation at Bogota

[edit]

The Bogotá workshop was conducted as part of the EduWiki Conference 2025 program, with the specific aim of planning EduWiki’s future through a transition to a hub structure. The session opened with an overview of the rationale behind this shift, highlighting preparatory work and feedback from pre-conference engagements. Participants gained insight into the proposed hub services and organizational framework, and a brief question-and-answer segment ensured alignment on objectives before moving into detailed discussions.

Attendees then divided into four breakout groups: Outreach & Engagement; Resource Curation & Development; Technical Infrastructure; and Capacity Building & Volunteer Support; each was guided by a designated facilitator. After reviewing one-page service overviews, participants individually reflected on strategies to develop their assigned service, the characteristics of an effective working group, and additional supports the hub should offer. Group discussions produced concrete ideas such as regional partnership models, peer-review workflows, multilingual platform features, and volunteer mentorship structures. Details of what each group discussion generated can be found in the table below.
