Event:EuroComms: How do we reach new contributors?
Join us for an online peer exchange for people involved in communications, community engagement, and outreach across Wikimedia communities in Europe. The meeting is organised as part of EuroComms - network of people working in communications and community engagement across Wikimedia affiliates and projects in Europe, aimed at sharing experience and peer learning.
About
[edit]This session will focus on one of the biggest questions many Wikimedia communities face: how do we reach new contributors? We'll explore different outreach approaches, share experiences from local communities, discuss what has worked (and what hasn't), and exchange practical ideas for engaging new editors and contributors.
This is not a conference or a series of presentations. Instead, the session is designed as an informal networking and conversation where participants can learn from each other's experiences, ask questions, and reflect on common challenges. Whether your community is experimenting with campaigns, partnerships, education programmes, social media, edit-a-thons, or other outreach activities, you're welcome to join the discussion.
Who can join
[edit]The meeting is intended for anyone involved in communications, outreach, marketing, social media, community development, volunteer engagement, partnerships, or other activities aimed at growing Wikimedia communities. Whether you're looking for inspiration, practical ideas, or simply an opportunity to connect with peers across Europe, we hope you'll join us.
This event is part of the EuroComms group's ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing among communications professionals and community organisers in the European Wikimedia movement. Learn more about the initiative on the EuroComms Meta page.
Van Anh from Wikimedia Europe and Karo from Wikimedia CEE Hub are your contact people in case of any questions.
