Join us for a festive evening celebrating 25 years of Wikipedia — the world’s largest collaborative project for free knowledge! The Evening of Free Culture will bring together Wikimedians, artists, educators, and the public for an inspiring mix of discussion, art, and community celebration. Expect an engaging GLAM panel on open culture, the Czech Wiki Photo 2025 exhibition and award ceremony, a live Wikipedia-themed slam poetry performance, and of course, a birthday toast and cake-cutting to honor Wikipedia’s incredible journey. Celebrate with us — because free knowledge deserves a party!

Expected audience

The event is open to everyone — Wikimedia volunteers, photographers, educators, students, cultural professionals, and anyone curious about Wikipedia, free culture, or open knowledge. No previous experience with Wikimedia projects is required; beginners and newcomers are very welcome.

The GLAM panel and slam poetry performance will be livestreamed on Wikimedia Czech Republic’s YouTube channel. Links to the stream and recording will be shared on: https://www.facebook.com/Wikimedia.CR

No registration or special tools are required to join online.

Free entry. For the evening Wiki-Slam Poetry show, seat reservation is required via GoOut.cz (link will be published in January 2026).
