General Information

The COST Action GRADE (Grassroots of Digital Europe) has been researching the beginnings and current state of creative computing cultures for the past 5 years. And it is time to bring the communities of activists, researchers, archivists and artists together.

And how to better do this than at an event with the Wikiverse and Creative Computing at the heart of its organisation?

Echtzeit - Digitale Kultur, the Cookie Collective and GRADE invite you to the

GRADE Conference at Le DOC in Paris – August 21st - 23rd 2026

We are happy to invite about 60 people who are:

Wikip/medians interested in digital grassroots movements and would like to participate in an on-site Edit-a-thon
digital artists, open source contributors, hackers, makers or other activists who would like to show off their way of working and introduce their community, or even give workshops on tools and how to get started
researchers in the field of Creative Computing and Digital Grassroots Movements would like to meet colleagues from all over Europe

For three days, we want to exchange about our projects ranging from the artistic to the activist and academic in the service of preserving and fostering Digital Grassroot Movements and Creative Computing.

We will have a limited ability to provide travel expense compensation and daily allowances for direct contributors to the event and network. For this, please get in touch with us so we can guide you through the sign-up process with the EU's eCOST platform.
