Event:Heritaste
Project
[edit]What parts of culture disappear first when nobody documents ordinary life?
Heritaste: Heat.Heart.History.
Food is memory, identity, migration, class, ritual, geography, trade, colonization, survival, and storytelling—all in one bowl.
Wiki Heritaste is a SKAP and WikiClub Davao community initiative that documents, preserves, and shares the food heritage of the various regions through: local cuisines, oral histories, cooking traditions, ingredients, rituals, migration stories and endangered food knowledge.
Each city/community may run local Heritaste activities shared through a regional framework.
Participants eat, tell stories, document together, record terminology, upload photos/audio/oral histories on Wikipedia projects.
We run it like part community meetup, part cultural documentation, part creator activity and part memory preservation before machine algorithms flatten everything and before cultural erasure by automation.
