About the Session

Heritage is often described as memory and identity. Yet it is also labour, value, and economy.

This International Women’s Day edition of the Feminism and Folklore Advocacy Session explores how intangible cultural heritage intersects with gender equity, sustainability, and economic systems.

How do women sustain folklore economies through invisible labour? How can heritage become a pathway to economic empowerment? What role can Wikimedia play in documenting and advocating for these realities?
