Welcome to the Learning clinic Spotlight on how to give feedback as a Wikimedian! Organised by the Let's Connect in collaboration with the Community Resilience and Sustainability, and Community Governance Support team of the Wikimedia Foundation.
Event Description
[edit]Feedback is an essential part of collaboration within the Wikimedia movement. Beyond being a communication skill, feedback shapes participation, accountability, governance, and community care across our shared knowledge spaces.
This Learning Clinic will explore how constructive feedback can strengthen collaboration, support safer participation, and contribute to healthier community dynamics. Participants will reflect on how feedback practices are influenced by culture, language, power dynamics, and community structures within the movement.
Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and real-life scenarios, participants will learn strategies for giving and receiving feedback constructively, navigating difficult conversations, and turning feedback into meaningful action.
The session will also examine how feedback functions as part of Wikimedia’s broader ecosystem of participation and decision-making, especially in diverse and multilingual communities.
