Event:Tyap Wiki Bootcamp Season 2

The second season of the Tyap Wiki Bootcamp is an initiative by the Tyap Wikimedians User Group aimed at grooming Tyap speakers who wish to improve their literary and speaking skills within a space of five months, once (online & in-person) every three weeks, and edit the Tyap Wikimedia projects within the space of time.

This will be a second approach to the Tyap Wiki Bootcamp Season 1, held between 19-25 August 2025, where 12 participants hosted in a common accommodation were present to improve on their spoken and written Tyap.

This year's event, held between 15 August and 06 December 2025, promises to be more insightful and flexible. Plan to attend if you are a Tyap speaker!

Objectives

• To immerse the Tyap Wikimedian (old and new) in the Tyap language.
• To increase literacy in the Tyap language among participants.
• To build a Tyap-speaking community with a high literacy rate in the Tyap language.
• To create a connection between the young and elderly Tyap speaker.
• To foster collaboration between the Tyap Wikimedia project, the language development board, and the project sponsor(s).
• To produce more valuable editors for Wikimedia projects in the Tyap language.
• To immerse the Tyap Wikimedian in editing Tyap Wikimedia projects.

Strategic plans

• Make a Google Form to share with applicants.
• Invite the Tyap Language Development Board to send a representative (preferably, an elderly person well-grounded in the Tyap language).
• Send congratulatory emails to those selected for the bootcamp.
• Hold a meeting with them to ascertain their proficiency in spoken Tyap, since knowing the spoken language to a level is the least qualification needed.
• Prepare the venue for the in-person lectures and games.

• Done July 20-21: Notify the general public of the program.
• Done July 22-31: Roll out Google Form to invite participants.
• Done August 1-7: Select the best participants to participate.
• Done August 8 - 10: Hold a virtual meeting with selected participants.
• Done August 15: Hold online event intro.
• Done August 16-05 December: Hold in-person and online events interchangeably.
• Done December 06: Hold in-person event closure.
