EMI, which means "Most Viewed" in Lingala, is a tool developed to help users search and sort the most viewed Wikipedia articles in a specific country and over a chosen time period.

This tool supports community needs by making it easier to:

  • Discover trending topics in different countries
  • Track what articles are being read the most
  • Inform content creation and localization strategies

This session is the second episode of the Wiki Mentor Africa’s tool spotlight series, focused on tools created or improved in the program. The goal is to grow communities around these tools by encouraging learning, use, and contribution.

During this spotlight, you will:

  • See a live demo of EMI in action
  • Learn how it can support editors, affiliates, and researchers
  • Explore ways to contribute to its development and usage
