Getting to know the Event Registration Tool

Abstract/description

The Event Registration tool is an on-wiki solution for event management and is the first tool to be added to the on-wiki Event Centre. In this presentation we will run through the features of the event tool, how it can be used to manage and track events and campaigns, and how users can interact with the tool.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to search for and filter events by topic, interest, and location; stay updated with the latest events from their User Page; and contribute their edits to WMAU as well as global campaigns and celebration events. Additionally, participants will learn how the event tool enables WMAU and global event organisers to collect statistics and measure user engagement.

Relationship to Wikimedia Australia, Wiki skills, the Wikmedia Movement

Participants will gain a greater understanding of WMAUs use of the tool, and how the event tool contributes to the statistics and involvement of Wikimedia Australia in global events and editing campaigns as well as reporting to the WMF.
