Getting around Canberra
[edit]Travel to the NFSA
The National Film and Sound Archive is located 1.1km from the Novotel Canberra. More information about getting to the NFSA is here https://www.nfsa.gov.au/visit-us
Walking: The walk to the NFSA from the Novotel is relatively flat and will take around 14-16 minutes, one way.
Driving: There is a dedicated NFSA car park next to the NFSA. The car park is free on a weekend. Car parks here can fill up especially during movie sessions at nearby Palace Electric cinema but early in the morning before the start of the conference should be OK. It is paid parking Monday to Friday 8.00-5.30pm. There are also some free 2 hour car parks on Liversidge St opposite the NFSA.
Bus: There is a no. 53 bus which departs down the road from the Novotel going to the NFSA but it only runs once per hour. The Transport Canberra site is here https://www.transport.act.gov.au/
