Overview
[edit]As WikiIndaba 2025 is around the corner, the Hackathon Organizing Team is launching a Pre-Event Hackathon day to welcome and orient both new and experienced technical contributors across Africa.
This online session will serve as an introduction to the technical tracks of WikiIndaba 2025, with a focus on:
- Understanding what to expect during the WikiIndaba Hackathon
- Setting up the development environment and tools needed to contribute
- Introducing key Wikimedia technical spaces, platforms, workflows, and mentors(if possible for now)
- Clarifying remote participation support(including satellite events), including data reimbursement guidelines
- Building momentum and shared readiness ahead of the main conference
This session will help ensure that all participants whether joining onsite in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania or remotely across Africa are prepared to contribute effectively during the WikiIndaba 2025 Hackathon.
