Introduction

Bahasa etnik bagi masyarakat di pelbagai Negeri di Malaysia kini menghadapi ancaman kepupusan akibat kurangnya dikenali dan didedahkan bahasa tersebut kepada masyarakat sekeliling. Oleh yang demikian, Kelab Wiki Kent dan Kumpulan Komuniti Pengguna Wikimedia Malaysia telah mengadakan WikiTour 2024 yang diadakan di 3 buah negeri di Malayisa iaitu Perak, Sarawak dan Sabah. WikiTour Perak 2024 merupakan satu inisiatif Kelab Wiki Kent dan Kumpulan Komuniti Pengguna Wikimedia Malaysia telah bekerjasama dengan Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) untuk memperkenalkan kepada pensyarah dan pelajar Minor Bahasa Kadazandusun di UPSI berkaitan dengan platform Wikikamus bagi memastikan kelangsungan bahasa Kadazandusun pada masa akan datang. Wikikamus merupakan projek di bawah organisasi bukan untung Wikimedia iaitu merupakan sebuah kamus digital yang kini telah mendigitalkan banyak bahasa etnik khususnya di Sabah termasuklah Bahasa Kadazandusun.

Goals

The main objective of the workshop is to help the lecturers and students of the Kadazandusun Minor Language at Sultan Idris Education University to digitize their mother tongue especially Kadazandusuna language so as not to be lost in the meltdown of time. In addition, through the implementation of this workshop, it is hoped that it will open the minds and awareness of the participants and club members to the further threats of Kadazandusun language cultivating the spirit of love for his mother tongue. At the same time, it is expected that the workshop will encourage the interest of club members and participants to be more active in the future in WikiKamus to preserve Kadazandusun language.

Objectives

• Introducing the Wikikamus platform to lecturers and students of Kadazandusun Minor Language at Sultan Idris Education University
• Injecting the interest of lecturers and students of the Kadazandusun Minor Language at Sultan Idris Education University in further expanding the Kadazandisun culture and language.
• Introducing the Wikimedia project to the lecturers and students of the Kadazandusun Minor Language at Sultan Idris Education University as one of the effective digitization mediums in preserving Kadazandusune culture in particular Wikimedia Common and Wikikamus.
• Increased self-confidence and communication skills as a coach in Wikikamus workshops.
