[edit]As part of the Wiki Loves Africa 2026 Training and Webinar Series, this session introduces participants to PattyPan, a powerful batch upload tool designed to simplify contributions to Wikimedia Commons.
Uploading multiple media files especially for campaigns like Wiki Loves Africa can be time-consuming when done manually. This session will provide a practical, step-by-step guide on how to use PattyPan to efficiently upload images, video, and other media files while ensuring proper metadata, licensing, and categorization.
Whether you are documenting cultural heritage, local traditions, or everyday life across Africa, this training will help you streamline your workflow and contribute more effectively to Wikimedia Commons.

Habib Mhenni is a long-time Tunisian Wikimedian, academic, and civil engineer. He serves as a Product Ambassador at the Wikimedia Foundation, supporting the Arabic Wikipedia community in adopting new Growth and Editing tools. A co-founder of the Wikimedia Tunisia User Group, Habib is deeply involved in movement organization and strategy. With a profound passion for photography, image editing, and visual storytelling, Habib has contributed over 10,000 files to Wikimedia Commons. He has served as a prolific volunteer photographer for major movement events worldwide, capturing and documenting moments at numerous editions of Wikimania (including the 2025 edition in Nairobi), the WikiConvention francophone (Paris, Quebec, Cotonou), and WikiArabia.
