Event:Wikimedia capacity building workshop for youth in rivers state

Objective

The Wikimedia Capacity Building Workshop for Youths in Rivers State is organized by Linking Partners for Niger Delta Development (NDLink) in collaboration with Wikimedia Niger Delta Network and supported by The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND). This project aims to introduce youths in Rivers State to Wikipedia and its sister projects. It focuses on creating awareness about Wikimedia projects, training participants on how to contribute to the open-source movement, and equipping them with hands-on skills in digital storytelling for peace and development. This initiative aims to empower young changemakers in the Niger Delta through knowledge sharing.

Introduce Wikimedia projects – Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons

Hands-on training on how to: edit articles on English Wikipedia & upload images to Wikimedia Commons

Gain hands-on skills in digital storytelling for peace and development

Be equipped and empowered to become a youth changemaker in the Niger Delta through knowledge sharing
